Writing a Duck Hunting Poem for Your Dinner Guests Will Surprise and Delight Them

from:

Duck hunting is an extremely exciting outdoor sport that has been popular for hundreds of years. Avid duck hunters do not mind spending time training their duck hunting dogs, gathering up their gear and spending weeks making sure it is in perfect condition. Some duck hunters have the basic hunting gear such as a shotgun, camouflage clothes, and a duck caller. Other duck hunters spend thousands of dollars on equipment such as a Jon or other duck boats, trained hunting dogs, top quality duck decoys, and camouflage for everything from clothing for themselves to camouflage for boats, dogs, motors, vehicles, duck blinds, and the list goes on. Some hunters even write a duck hunting poem or two about their adventures while hunting this fine feathered fowl.

Duck hunting and ducks in general have fascinated people for centuries. This is obvious by the huge assortment of duck items and information available today. There are duck articles, books, recipes, games, collectables, china, decoys, duck boats, and even a duck hunting poem or poems. There are many different types of duck hunting poems such as:

• A duck hunting poem about the love of hunting
• A duck hunting poem about peoples dislike of hunting
• A duck hunting poem about the beauty of ducks
• A funny or humorous duck hunting poem that entertains

Along with a great duck hunting poem selection available are wonderful wild duck recipes. Here is one of the many wild duck recipes available.

Tame Rice and Wild Duck

• One wild duck, cleaned and ready to cook
• Two cups minute rice
• Two cups duck stock
• One chopped onion
• 1 ½ teaspoons salt
• 1 teaspoon pepper
• 1/8 teaspoon red pepper (optional)
• Other seasonings if you have some you prefer

Instructions

Place the wild duck in a 4-quart pot and cover with water. Add the onion, salt, pepper and other seasoning and bring this to a boil. Reduce heat and slow cook this for one and a half hours. Remove the duck and place it on a warm platter. Bring two cups of reserved stock to a boil. You can add water to make this amount if necessary. Add your minute rice to this boiling stock, cover, and let stand twenty minutes. Place the fluffed up rice around the duck and garnish with parsley. This makes three to four servings.

If you love writing poetry and are having a dinner party where you serve wild duck, write a duck hunting poem for each guest to read when they sit down. This will certainly add a little fun to your dinner party.
